Stock and ETF tokens are for research only for now. Trading in testing covers SOL and JUP against USDC. A stock token doesn’t necessarily give you direct ownership of company shares.

Robinhood holds it for you. Thor puts it in your hand.

Owning crypto comes down to a key: a secret code that approves every transfer. Whoever holds the key controls the money. Here’s how the Thor we’re building compares with the Robinhood app today. Thor isn’t finished: stock token trading depends on legal review, and much of this isn’t built yet.

Who holds your cryptoYou do. Your key is kept on your phone, not on Thor’s servers, and nothing moves until you approve it.Robinhood does. In its words: “We manage your keys.”1
Stocks and cryptoBoth in one place that you control: crypto, plus stock tokens (digital tokens linked to company shares).Stocks and crypto sit in separate Robinhood accounts. To hold crypto yourself, you need a different app, Robinhood Wallet.23
What you give up by holding it yourself
If you lose your phoneOnly your backup, which you keep yourself, can get you back in. Thor can’t reset it for you.You sign back in to your Robinhood account.
ProtectionNo SIPC-style protection, and no independent security audit yet.Stock accounts are with SIPC members, a US scheme that steps in if a member broker fails. Crypto isn’t SIPC or FDIC protected.3

Questions

What happens when I join the waitlist?

We save your email. When there’s a version of Thor you can try, we’ll email you once to tell you.

Can I trade real tokenized stocks?

Not yet. Stock token trading depends on eligibility and legal review, and availability will vary by country.

How will Thor make money?

Thor doesn’t add a fee to your trades. You pay only the Solana network fee and whatever the market you trade on charges. We haven’t settled on a business model yet. One idea is an optional subscription with extras, such as more reach for your community posts and more chart settings.

Does self-custody make my activity private?

No. Self-custody means you hold your keys. Transactions on a public blockchain can still be seen by others.

If I lose my phone, do I lose my wallet?

Not if you kept your offline backup. Thor has you save and verify one when you set up the wallet. Thor can’t reset or recover a wallet for you.
